Brief Biography

Ruchira Bhattacharya is an Assistant Professor at the Centre for CSR PPP PA and Research Consultancy at the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Delhi, India. She did her Ph.D. from JNU, New Delhi on the changes in the Public Distribution System in India, and jointly held a Researcher position in Centre for Social Science and Humanities-Delhi for a longitudinal village study of the London School of Economics. Prior to joining NIRDPR, she has taught development economics at the Ambedkar University Delhi, worked as a Program Officer in Population Council.

Field of Interests

Her areas of interest are rural development, SDGs, food security, social transfer, equity, and gender. She has also worked in the areas of public health focusing on nutrition and risks of the population vulnerable to HIV.
