Brief Biography

As a Seed Technologist, I have over 46 years of working experience in Seed System Management, Seed Regulations, Agri-business, and Agro-Industry Management Specialist. I was in the Head Office of Bangladesh Sugar and Food Industries Corporation (BSFIC) under the Ministry of Industries, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.

I have also worked in the private sector seed industry namely

  1. National Agri Products Limited (NAPL) as Director,
  2. Allied Agro Industries as Managing Director, and 
  3. Petrochem(Bangladesh) as Advisor.

Field of Interests

For a period of over 46 years, I have developed myself and have been engaged in the following fields of Agricultural R&D, Regulatory Framework, and Editing of National and International Publications.

  • Editing Publications of Government/Public and Private sector, and International Organizations;
  • Agricultural Crop Variety Research and Development(R&D); Release and Registration of Agricultural High-Yielding-Modern-Varieties (HYMVs) and Hybrids;
  • Seed Science and Technology;
  • Agricultural Policy Regulation;
  • Agricultural Seed Regulation(Seed Policy, Seed Act, Seed Rules)
  • Plant Quarantine Regulation -Plant Quarantine Act, Plant Quarantine Rules, ISPM (International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures under the International Regulatory Framework) of IPPC (International Plant Protection Convention) of WTO and FAO of the United Nations;.
  • Intellectual Property Right(IPR);
  • Editing of National and International Publications, Periodicals, Journals, Annual Reports etc (at present I am actively associated with the technical work of Editing Publications of SAARC Agriculture Centre, Dhaka, Bangladesh);
  • To organize National and International Conference, Seminar, Workshop, Symposium, Fair, etc.
  • To present Technical as well as Regulatory Framework Papers in the National and International conferences, Seminars, workshops, symposiums, fairs, etc.
