Brief Biography

Prof. Nicholas Kathijotes is an experienced International senior consultant and academic with a demonstrated history of working in higher education and research. He studied civil engineering at the University of Massachusetts, in U.S.A (1976).
After a Fulbright scholarship, he received his Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering at the University of New Haven, Connecticut, U.S.A (1986). He did his doctoral research at the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy – UACEG in Sofia studying the effects of wastewater recycling on various soils. He received his Ph.D. in 2001.
He currently a Professor (adj.) at the Univerity of Nicosia, and a Senior Researcher at the University of Nicosia Research Foundation (UNRF).
He is also the Focal Point of the International Ocean Institute in Cyprus, since 2008.

Field of Interests

Skilled in Water Resources, Water treatment and Management, Blue Economy infrastructure, Ocean protection, and Climate Change. Emphasis is given to the sustainable advancement of developing countries.
He has presented numerous keynote lectures to international events on topics of interest with emphases on the Blue Economy, Blue Technology management, and sustainability.
